Introducing StealthX, a turbocharged CX consultancy

This week I’m interrupting my usual newsletter content with an exciting update! 🎉

After months of hard work and preparation, I’m thrilled to publicly announce the launch of StealthX, a turbocharged CX consultancy where I am founder & Managing Partner.

StealthX was born out of a simple but powerful idea - to help companies create amazing customer experiences quickly, without the unnecessary complexity of traditional consulting firms. After months of refining the approach, gathering Avengers, and delivering several killer projects, the squad and I are excited to move out of the shadows. 🥷

StealthX specializes in customer strategy, human-centered design, and software engineering for late-stage startups and mid-sized companies. We’re here to help businesses create incredible experiences by rapidly researching customer needs, designing strategic solutions, and bringing them to market fast.

We’re high octane all the time.

We like to think of ourselves as the "SEALs" of the CX world. We’re not the big, slow-moving armies you find in traditional consulting firms. Instead, we’re a high-velocity, high-impact team of senior experts who get in, create value, and get out. You won’t find us perfecting decks or blabbering on about what you should do for months on end. Our mission is to get in the boat with you, show progress quickly, and deliver real results that move your business forward.

A lot of consultancies focus on getting as many bodies as possible on a project at the highest bill rates, writing decks, and giving advice with no tangible value delivered. We believe in showing, not telling. We’re makers and doers. Whether it’s prototyping a new product or building a proof of concept, we roll up our sleeves and create something real for your business.

We’ve already had the opportunity to deliver several awesome projects that showcase our ability to create value, fast. One example is our recent work with a manufacturing company in the Carolinas. Historically, they’ve only sold B2B, but thanks to our team, they were able to launch a new eCommerce experience that opened up a new B2C revenue stream. In a short time, we helped them evolve their business model and generate new income.

We also recently worked with a fast-growing startup, helping them crystallize their operating model for their next phase of growth. By rapidly understanding their needs and collaboratively designing a strategy tailored to their goals, we were able to help them take the next big step in scaling their business.

What’s the story behind the name?

Have you heard the phrase, “Great design is invisible?” It highlights how people often miss great design because it feels obvious. Similarly, we believe great experiences are often invisible. Customers expect it to be great and notice when it’s not. This is a big part of where the word Stealth came from.

Also, StealthX is designed to operate as seamlessly as possible. We know that bringing in consultants can sometimes feel disruptive. That’s why we make it our mission to get in and out without slowing down your operations. We work side by side with our clients, often integrating so closely that we feel like part of their team.

The X in StealthX stands for customer experience (hopefully that’s obvious). Also for the multiplier effect we aim to have on our clients’ businesses. Our sweet spot is creating pilots, prototypes, and proofs of concept that allow you to test the market quickly. We focus on speed and impact, partnering with other firms when longer-term, larger-scale development is needed.

P.s. For those that know me, you also know that ultimately… I just really love badass names and the color black (I wear black tees every day). 🏴‍☠️

Upcoming launch events

We’re kicking off the public announcement of StealthX with a few exciting events:

  • Product Roundtable: This week we’re partnering with Defiance Digital to host a small roundtable dinner with product, strategy, and startup leaders from across Charlotte.

  • Product Camp: We’re excited to announce that we’re co-hosting Product Camp with Innovate Charlotte on October 17th. This is a full day workshop experience to help 5 NC-based startups understand their market and determine where to play and how to win.
